Working on the House

Parkes is such a big help when it has come to all the ambitious projects we have undertaken with our house. Here he is measuring the kitchen cabinets for us while Daddy is working on adding some shelves to fill in the spaces of where we have moved some of our kitchen cabinets around. For those that haven’t been around our house to see the fun chaos that we are living in here’s what we are doing…it all started when we found some spiral stairs on eBay and Brandon and our friend Joel drove to the top of Ohio to get them so we could replace the very strange set of stairs that was in our house when we bought it. By doing that it meant taking out the closet under the stairs to let the new spiral stairs go up and then tearing our the area in the kitchen where the stairs started so that is why we are rearranging the cabinets. Then we started the upstairs addition of raising the roof on the back side to add a master suite upstairs. Originally we were going to work with the bathroom we had up there, but then changed our minds and have now gutted it as well so our upstairs right now is one empty room with no drywall and a toilet in the middle of it. And during all of this Brandon decided to that he would build a massive smoker/grill big enough to smoke a whole pig with the brick from the chimney he tore out of the house because he doesn’t want waste anything. But as it stands now not a single project is done. I’ll post some before and after pictures eventually.

So happy to know that I'm not the only creative person who can never finish anything. Maybe if I had some help from Parkes...
